The GT-27 was delivered on 9/30/98. Since we do not have a loading dock
or fork lift, we arranged for delivery by our favorite rigger. The machine
was shipped there, unloaded, uncrated, put on a special trailer and brought
to us.
The trailer has a tilt feature so that the fork lift can be unloaded.
The fork lift is then used to unload the machine.
Unfortunately, the fork lift will not fit in the confines of our shop.
The crew prepares to transfer the machine to a pallet jack.
Finally, the machine is rolled to the place that we want it. Electrical
service and compressed air have already been run to the area. We remove
covers of the CNC control and the servo amp cabinet to check that no fasteners
have loosened during transit. They have not, so the covers are replaced.
The coolant pump cabinet cover is removed. Three phase power is hooked
up, and rotation is checked through the coolant pump shaft sightglass.
Naturally, rotation of the pump is wrong. We swap two power leads and try
again. Rotation being correct, we test the basic machine functions. X is
X, Z is Z, plus is plus, minus is minus, forward is forward, backward is
backward, everything seems to work. Let's make some parts!
