We use the Vanco 1201-AX pneumatic barfeeds on the GT-27.
Right, the all-thread rod used for the height adjuster. Middle, the
forward support and control unit. Left, the custom height adjusters.
We have found that the all-thread rod height adjusters do not interface with the bar supports very precisely. The internal diameter of the supports have only the thread crests to bear upon. The barfeed becomes susceptable to vibration, loosening, and misalignment.
Our solution was to make our own adjusters with smooth diameters at the top. Note the groove which is intended for the binding screws to push into. If the groove is absent, the screw will make a divot in the bearing surface and make disassembly difficult.
The barfeed with these height adjusters installed is noticably more solid.
